DIVERSITY. We make IT happen

Your transactions, as a stream.

Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, MQTT or ActiveMQ, run for you beside the instances and databases you already have with us. Our data engineers wire it to the systems that need to hear about each event, including the ones in AWS, Azure or GCP.

Already with us

Add streaming without adding a vendor.

You are already on our Cloud, running a managed database, or building on Data-Driven. The broker goes in the datacenter you choose, next to what you run with us, and our data engineers wire it in. What you run in a public cloud connects over direct peering.

A worked example: your orders, as they happen

  1. 01

    Your database

Our engineers point Debezium at the change log of your managed PostgreSQL. Your application code does not change.
  2. 02

    A topic

Every new or changed order becomes a message on a Kafka topic, in the same site as the database.
  3. 03

    Your warehouse system

A consumer our engineers build, running beside your applications, feeds your warehouse management system as each order lands.
  4. 04

    Run by us

Patching, monitoring and backups, and on a cluster, failover within the site. The next topic goes on the same broker.

Architecture: a managed broker inside the DIVERSITY network, connected to your applications on Cloud instances in the same site at single-digit milliseconds, to Debezium and Kafka Connect reading your database, and to the Data-Driven platform. Your offices, datacenters, plants and remote sites reach it over Private Link, and systems in AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle and Cloudflare over direct peering at European exchange points. An optional replica in a second EU site connects over our own Layer 2 network.

Platform

The broker on its own, or with our engineers.

Five brokers, single instance or cluster, fully managed either way. Add our data engineers when events need to reach the systems you already run.

Apache Kafka

Runs KRaft. No ZooKeeper to operate separately.

NATS

Core NATS for fire-and-forget pub/sub, or JetStream when messages have to survive a restart.

RabbitMQ

Queues and exchanges, for teams who already think in those terms.

MQTT

Eclipse Mosquitto, for device and sensor telemetry.

ActiveMQ

JMS, for enterprise Java and what is already built around it.

Integration layer, not a broker

Debezium / Kafka Connect

The integration layer our engineers use to turn an existing database into a stream, change by change.

NATS

The NATS we sell you is the NATS we run.

We use NATS in our own production environment, and that is why we offer it. Our logo is on the nats.io homepage, among the companies that run it.

See it on nats.io (opens in a new tab)

The broker on its own

Pick the broker and the shape, single instance or cluster. We run it, at 99.9% uptime by contract.

  • Patching and upgrades

Version upgrades and security patches, applied by us.
  • Monitoring and alerting

We watch it, and we call you when it needs you.
  • Backup and restore

Hourly, kept as the last 24 hourly, 7 daily, 4 weekly, 12 monthly and 3 yearly.
  • Failover within a site

On a cluster, node-level resilience inside the datacenter you chose.

With our engineers

The same managed broker, plus the work that connects it to what you run.

  • Change data capture

Debezium and Kafka Connect on the databases that should publish: ours, or yours if it reaches us privately over TLS, so every change becomes a message.
  • Topic design

Topics and retention shaped around what you are actually moving.
  • Consumers into your systems

The work that lands events in your warehouse system, your applications, or the lake Data-Driven builds.
  • A second site

A replica in another EU site over our own Layer 2, designed and built with you. Surviving the loss of a whole site starts here.
Worth it?

Is streaming worth it?

If either is true where you work, probably. If neither is, a nightly batch job may do the job cheaper, and we will tell you so on the call.

Problem 01

Your systems find out hours later

The order shipped, the price changed, the sensor tripped. The next system only hears about it when a batch job gets round to telling it.

Problem 02

Every integration is its own script

One team exports a CSV overnight, another copies a table on a schedule, a third keeps a script nobody wants to touch. None of them talk to each other, and every new connection starts from zero.

Need reports and models on a schedule rather than events as they happen? That is Data-Driven.

Industries

Where it fits best.

Where streaming fits naturally. A list of fits, not of past customers.

Banking, finance and insurance

A transaction stream your fraud models read as it happens, instead of tomorrow's batch. Positions and exposure that move when the trade does, not at the nightly close.

Retail and e-commerce

Stock and pricing events that reach every channel at the same moment, so no system waits on a nightly sync.

Manufacturing and industry

Sensor and PLC telemetry over MQTT, from the shop floor to a stream your systems subscribe to, not a file dropped once a shift.

Energy and utilities

Meter and grid telemetry at interval granularity, streamed to the systems that balance load and settle usage as it arrives.

A broker isn't the hard part. Wiring it into what you run is.

Three ways to put a broker into production, and what each one leaves with you.

Things people ask before signing

What we get asked, with honest answers.

Isn't this just Kafka? We could run it ourselves.

You could, and plenty of people do. Then the patching, the upgrades, the monitoring and the restores are yours as well. We run the broker for you, on its own or wired into your systems by our data engineers, next to what you run with us. Out-of-hours cover comes with the paid advanced support plan.

Is this really Kafka, or something compatible?

We run Apache Kafka itself, with KRaft, not an API-compatible substitute. The same goes for NATS, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, and Eclipse Mosquitto for MQTT.

Can we run more than one broker, like Kafka for one team and MQTT for our sensors?

Yes. Each is provisioned on instances of its own, so a Kafka cluster for application events and an MQTT broker for device telemetry sit side by side without either knowing the other exists.

Our systems are split between you and AWS, Azure or GCP. Does that work?

Yes. We peer directly with AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle and Cloudflare at European exchange points, so a producer or consumer in one of them reaches the broker without crossing the open internet. Our engineers can also point Debezium at a database you run there or on your own premises, as long as it reaches us over direct peering or Private Link and the connection uses TLS. We do not read a database that is open to the public internet. You do not have to move anything first. Latency from a public-cloud region is whatever that distance costs; single-digit milliseconds is a same-site figure.

Do we need this, or Data-Driven?

Data-Driven is for analytics on a schedule: pipelines, a lake and the reports built on it. This is for events the moment they happen, moving between the systems you run. The two compose: our engineers can land your events in the lake Data-Driven builds. If what you need is a report every morning, start with Data-Driven, and the discovery call will say so.

What does “fully managed” actually cover?

Patching and version upgrades, monitoring and alerting, backup and restore, and on a cluster, failover within the datacenter you chose, at 99.9% uptime, by contract, with automatic credits if we miss it. Support is free on every product we sell, with a 4-hour target response time on support requests, and the paid advanced plan adds shorter targets plus weekend and out-of-hours cover. A broker replicated across more than one site is not included: we design and build that with you, over our own Layer 2 network.

What is the latency like?

Single-digit milliseconds when your producers and consumers run in the same datacenter as the broker. From an office or a plant over Private Link, it is whatever that distance costs. Replication to another site crosses our own Layer 2 network rather than the public internet, but it is still a real distance, so we do not publish a number for it: a single figure could fit one pair of sites and would mislead about the rest.

Is the broker backed up?

Yes, and it is not a line item. Backups run hourly and are kept on a grandfather-father-son schedule: the last 24 hourly, 7 daily, 4 weekly, 12 monthly and 3 yearly. We do not publish a restore time yet.

How do we start?

The discovery call, and it is free. 60 minutes, an engineer rather than a salesperson, and a written diagnosis inside a week: which broker, what it connects to, and what we would leave alone. Already a customer? Same call, same form: tell us what you run with us and it starts from there.

Do we need to move everything to event streaming at once?

No. Start with one topic, usually the thing already causing pain, like an order or a transaction stream, and add brokers and topics as you need them.

Where does our data live while it is in the broker?

Madrid, Munich, Helsinki or Amsterdam, and you pick which at the start. It is our own hardware in our own datacenters. The broker runs in that site, and in a second one only if you ask us to build a replica there. Replication between our sites runs over our own Layer 2 network and never leaves the EU.

Who can compel you to hand it over?

DIVERSITY is a European company with no parent company, US or otherwise, so there is no entity above us for an order from outside the EU to be served on. That is a structural answer rather than a policy one.
